Viscosity
The viscosity of fluids – reliably measured inline, online and in the lab. Particles and bubbles affect neither operation nor accuracy.
Viscosity describes the thickness or internal friction of liquids and gases (fluids). The higher the viscosity, the thicker the fluid; the lower the viscosity, the thinner (more freely flowing) – and the faster it flows under the same conditions.
The Sofraser product line offers excellent mechanical and chemical resistance with low abrasivity. Even in challenging environments such as high temperature or high pressure, kinetic or dynamic viscosity measurements are possible.

Sofraser process viscometers
The Sofraser process viscometers (resonance-frequency vibration measurement) consist of the "MIVI" sensor and the evaluation unit (transmitter/processor). The measurement range is always adapted to the customer and can range from 0.050 up to 2,000 mPa·s or even 1,000,000 mPa·s.
Particles and bubbles affect neither operation nor accuracy. The process viscometers are characterised by:
- no recalibration
- easy installation
- no mechanical adjustment
- no drift
- low maintenance

SOFAST Benchtop – laboratory viscometer
Available for 2 ml, 30 ml and 100 ml samples. The SOFAST laboratory viscometer delivers results in less than 60 seconds. Cleaning is quick and easy thanks to the exposed vibration sensor – no disassembly required.

THERMOSET-CF process viscometer
Thermoset is the fastest and most efficient way to automatically measure viscosity at reference temperature within the production process. Measured values are available and transmitted to the process-control system in less than 10 minutes.
