Measurement system for quick and simple determination of permittivity in cases (e.g. mixtures of liquids) where this value cannot be retrieved from literature. There are no acceptable methods to calculate values from mixtures from pure component values. Never before was determining Dielectric constants that easy: simply dip the probe into the liquid to be measured, adjust the two controls on the front of the instrument and read the value of the dielectric constant from the display. The BI-870 can be used to measure liquids of both low and high permittivity and is easy to clean.


BI-870 The probe has an open structure. It is constructed from two precision cylinders, machined from stainless steel. Six Nylon screws maintain the cylinder spacing. The measurement signal applied to the outer cylinder of the probe is a low-distortion sine wave at a frequency of 10 kHz. The dielectric constant of the liquid sample is determined by measuring the current between the outer and inner cylinders of the probe.
